About

BookWorm was released on Nov 29, 2002 for Palm OS devices and Pocket PCs. It was originally sold for $14.95. The game is nice and compact and has a very similar look to the Java version. BookWorm for Palm OS had an Easter Egg, where if you're AFK for a few moments, Lex will put on a mask, or a mustache. It seems to be that there a few variaties to this version, but I'm unable to track them down (See: Screenshot 5). I was able to play the Palm OS version via a Palm OS Simulator, which I have included in the download. Perhaps it was the Deluxe version for these devices, as you needed to register them after 10 plays. Despite this, there's only a few videos of this game, and 1 of the Pocket PC version. I also included an .exe for the Pocket PC in the download. BookWorm Blackberry is very similar to this port.

I found a site where someone who helped develop BookWorm talked about what they did. They rewrote the game to use the new framework and dictionary system for the game.
